presentations lobbyingThe main goal of this project is to assist in running a campaign to lobby to keep the only coin operated laundromat in Squamish open. This would include lobbying various levels of Government, reaching out to private landlords, dealing with the Squamish Nation, and raising awareness of the importance of access to washing facilities as a basic human right.
The tasks that learners need to complete to achieve the project goal include:
- Writing letters to government officials, private landlords, and the Squamish Nation.
- Following up on media outreach.
- Creating presentations.
- Posting social media stories.
- Meeting daily with the owner.
We are there with you every day to keep this place alive to the sake of public health and the environment.
The goal would be to pay you through Level Up so you have to be in Canada

The Spot Laundromat is the only coin operated laundromat in Squamish serving thousands of people including van dwellers, the un-homed, low income residents, the vulnerable and people whose machines are broken.
