react native github user experience (ux) event logging performance measurement firebase user interface (ui)The goal of this project is to work on the second iteration of Tangibles (https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/tangibles/id1639582985), an educational mobile app built with React Native and Firebase, and currently used in Canadian schools. This will involve several different tasks for the students, including to:
- Conform the app to the best UI/UX practices by applying existing designer's recommendations
- Integrate a system-wide event logging platform
- Reinforce the app’s security
- Implement new features (using provided specifications), that will allow expansion of the product’s potential educational user market
- Implement unit tests
- Automate the app's build/distribution pipeline
- Implement an app performance measurement system (with potential optimizations, based on the data collected)
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of the mobile app, its features, and its customer base
- Understanding of the main pain points that affect the user experience.
- Ability to identify contributions made to the project during the experience, and how those contributions align with the initially requested tasks.
- Ability to identify areas of future improvement for the mobile app.
Bonus steps would include:
- Depending on timing, testing the updated mobile app with production users and adjusting recent changes based on their feedback.
Final deliverables should include:
- All source code (as GitHub contributions).
- A short written report explaining the design process and outcomes.
We're offering all proper documentation, along with direct communication to our tech lead, in order to provide the required support and guidance as learners go through the project. Progress will be validated along the way, and feedback will be provided in a timely manner.
