Tasks
Students will:
- Review existing site, determine effective SEO strategies
- Conduct keyword research and analysis and define a set of appropriate keywords to target for increased traffic
- Review URL structure, tagging and internal linking organization and order
- Advise on site organization or menu changes
- Develop keyword relevant content
Students will have an opportunity to use leading real world strategies and see the results of their efforts in real time. They can build on this opportunity when the project is complete by starting their own SEO optimization company based on the skills they have learned here.
Develop on-page and off-page SEO strategy for web-site
Review and correct any needed canonical errors or technical issues with google search, examine and correct page tags
Ensure keyword is in main page title, page title, H1 tags
Determine keyword strategy for google search ads
Determine effective category titles
Determine baseline metric for web-site authority, traffic and positioning
Develop a posting and editorial calendar
Develop keyword rich contextually relevant niche editorial content using existing and new source materials
Review results and determine optimization opportunities
Will lead and guide the team and serve as subject matter expert and "client"
