The project aims to develop an AI-powered tool to automate the validation of book niches, addressing the time-consuming process authors and publishers currently face. By leveraging AI, the tool will analyze market trends and indicators to identify profitable book topics, thus reducing the manual effort required. This project provides an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge of AI and data analysis in a practical setting. The tool will generate a dynamic list of high-potential book topics, analyze key market indicators, and automate customer research processes. The ultimate goal is to create a technology-driven system that streamlines niche validation, enabling authors and publishers to focus more on content creation and less on market research.

Deliverables

Note: I will provide a video using tools of how this is done today to show you the tools used and how this process looks from front to back (from finding a book that meets proof of concept all the way through to using AI to generate a manuscript) using technology. This will be a great opportunity for you to learn how to work with AI and different tools to build your own agent that can execute meaningful tasks that will solve a significant problem in the marketplace. I am including the main elements of the project below which can evolve as we begin working together.


✅ Outline the step-by-step process a human researcher follows to validate a book topic.

✅ Break down this process into automation steps that an AI agent can replicate.

✅ Develop Python scripts or low-code/no-code tools to automate parts of the research process.

✅ Test different AI models to determine which can best analyze book niche data.

Store & Organize Data – Save structured data in a database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Google Sheets, or Firebase).

Deliverables


💡 Process Mapping Document – A clear breakdown of the manual research process and how it will be automated.

📝 AI Proof of Concept (PoC) Report – A document describing AI’s role in topic validation, including findings from model testing.

🔧 Basic Working Prototype – A script, dashboard, or tool that can pull, analyze, and rank book topics based on research criteria and enter books that meet POC (proof of concept based on criteria I share) into a running list in CSV or in the platform


Additional Bonus Points: Once the above is complete the AI agent can trigger off the next steps in the sequence using a piece of technology we have access to create the manuscript and send it off to an Editor/Ghostwriter to work with.
