teamwork team leadership social responsibility creativity & innovation professionalismIf your organization is interested in becoming more viable through the incorporation of socially responsible initiatives (Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations), students in Applied Business Communication course (ENG205) can complete a Needs Analysis and offer recommendations. These recommendations will be gained through a thorough research and deep analysis of the research findings, which will be properly documented.
Learners
- Analytical Report offering recommendations for a sustainable development initiative, which will include Needs' Analysis, research data analysis, Comparison Graphics/Tables based on specified criteria, interpretation of findings, conclusions and recommendations. The report will have 10-12 pages.
- A one-page visual document- Infographic- that highlights the research findings and offers recommendations. It can be used to support the presentation.
- A 15 minute Oral Presentation of the research findings and recommendations by using Slide Deck slides and/or Infographic poster. Your company is invited to attend.
- Optional (on company request) - Spark Video Presentation to reflect the Research milestones – Needs Analysis, Comparison Graphics and Tables, Research findings and Recommendations.

Project Examples
Requirements
To meet your organization needs for sustainable development, students in ENG205 will complete the following:
1. Conduct a thorough research of the social or economic sustainability initiatives adopted by your competitors (or some other initiatives that the company might be interested in)
2. Complete the Needs Analysis and write an Analytical Report that will reflect the deep analysis of the research findings, include graphics with explanations, draw conclusions, and offer recommendations
3. Create a one-page Infographic that highlights research findings
4. Deliver a 10-15 minutes Oral Presentation of the research findings and recommendations by using Slide Deck slides (Slide Deck Presentation can be submitted to the company).
5. As an option, create a Spark Video Presentation to reflect the Research milestones – Needs Analysis, Comparison Graphics and Tables, Research findings and Recommendations
Project examples can be adapted to the company needs. Focus may include community or student needs (food and housing security, clothing, transportation, access), the environment (water, land use), or other relevant issues (accessibility, seniors, mental health).
