Learner goals and capabilities

With more than 390 academic programs, the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto is one of Canada’s largest and most research-intensive institutions.

From criminology and neuroscience to psychology and economics, our programs are among the world’s best, according to the annual QS World University Rankings.

The Sandbox is a leading-edge program where we invite organizations to engage in multidisciplinary, high-impact projects with our students across our hundreds of programs.

We invite you to submit project proposals to collaborate with our students from our wide variety of programs and subject disciplines, and our experienced team will work to scope an appropriate project and structure the experience.

Previous examples of Sandbox projects include:

  • Working with a School District to review and update transport policy and practice.
  • Working with multinational nonprofits to improve mission decision making via development of a data-driven platform.
  • Working with an NGO to develop an evaluation rubric for sustainable development projects.
