Learner goals and capabilities

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from Concordia College to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Learners in this program will:

  1. Examine and analyze quality improvement programs and their adaptability to the healthcare system and environment.
  2. Get introduced to process improvement including LEAN and SIX SIGMA.
  3. Review the regulations, compliance, and guidelines of healthcare quality
  4. Review patient care quality issues when creating a culture of safety, high reliability, and overall improved population health.
  5. Develop an understanding of how future healthcare policy related to quality will impact the system.

What can our learners do for your company?

  1. Act as a consultant for matters of research, assessment, and evaluation.
  2. Provide project management for the research.
  3. Provide updates and feedback loops to ensure scope and timelines are met.

Learners in groups of 2-3 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.

Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Evaluate processes and make recommendations for improvements.
  2. Research area of interest or importance and report and present findings in a formal presentation.
  3. Partner within the organization to select an area for improvement and work toward mutually agreed upon outcomes.
