Bring on students from University Canada West to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
Talent Management serves as a foundational course for students who wish to understand contemporary organizations, their work culture and the role of HR within the Canadian workplace. Taking an applied approach, students create, and design strategies, policies, procedures, systems and structures required to successfully operate in a business context. Students also examine the key OBHR tools considered as a set of business "best practices" to support and advise managers/leaders, and employees to be successful in the contemporary
Learners
Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization.
Some final project deliverables might include:
- A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
- A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations

Project Examples
Requirements
Students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.
Project activities that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Developing framework that can help in developing an inclusive organizational culture that lead to organizational effectiveness
- Applying OB and HRM industry-specific best practices to develop/ design organizational level policies and recommendations.
- Developing a plan to address absenteeism/employee turnover
- Designing strategies to improve the performance management system
- Understanding the key issues in group dynamics and develop strategies for managing the group process
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
A representative of the company will be available for a pre-selection discussion with the administrator of the course to review the project scope.
Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.
How is your project relevant to the course?
Client is able to work with up to 8 groups of students
A representative of the company will be available to answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project. Client is available to join class at the beginning of the project to introduce their company and project to students.
Provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.
