Red River College's International Business Program is an intense one-year academic post-graduate diploma program that prepares students to meet the challenges of adapting to the global marketplace. They receive comprehensive education and training that allows them to build skills needed in today's global business world. Students study International Marketing, Strategy, Sales, Logistics, Political Economy, Law, Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship. The virtual internship is the last requirement for the students to graduate.

Put our students from Honduras, Hong Kong, India, China, Turkey and Vietnam to work for and with you! As post-graduate students, they have a wide variety of backgrounds and education ranging from business, sciences, technology, finance and fashion. Many are multilingual.

Students are available for 240 hours of placement from September 7 to October 22 2021 - a later start date may be discussed but projects must wrap up by the end of October.

Depending on the nature of the internship, Partners | Employers can expect:

  • Students with a good work ethic, intellect, and willingness to learn and succeed.
  • A formal report and online presentation in the areas agreed upon. (If more than two teams are working on the project, the top two reports will be submitted)

If you choose to participate by offering a virtual internship, please know your organizationwill be providing a valuable community service by helping prepare our future workforce. Everyone has a mentor or an opportunity that got them started - perhaps you will be that important experience for our students.

Requirements

We are looking for companies that can bring on one or more of the International Business students from Red River College as your UNPAID virtual interns. That is where you come in! Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed using virtual communication tools.

Our students have a great track record of putting their skills to work on many past RIIPEN projects.

Student abilities include:

1. Perform an environmental analysis to evaluate the impact of world issues on an organization's international business opportunities.

2. Conduct, evaluate and present market research to support an organization's international business decision-making.

3. Analyze procurement and transportation procedures and explore opportunities to support the movement of products and services in the organization's global supply chain.

4. Develop and implement strategies addressing potential effects cultural differences could have on an organization's integrative trade initiatives.

5. Develop and present a marketing plan and evaluate sales strategies that support an organization's initiatives.

6. Conduct an analysis of an organizations current marketing strategies and tactics.

7. Develop and present a feasibility study to introduce a product or service to a foreign or domestic market.

8. Analyze an organization's sales by customer segmentation and identify key opportunities for future growth.

Students will then apply for Internship positions with employers whose projects are approved

Students can begin as early as September 7; the placements would typically end around mid-October, with the potential for employers to continue the placement longer. Students are available for 240 hours of placement.
