This semester a group of talented students from University Canada West will help you excel towards sustainable achievements. In teams, students will analyse one main challenge of your choice around organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, and develop a strategy to elevate your organization. Based on information you provide, in teams, students will focus on one main topic and will deliver an action plan that incorporates your unique circumstances and outlines a path to more efficient and effective operations, aligned with company's goals, industry wide trends, current situation, and employees' expectations. Utilizing an applied approach and using different academically tried and tested tools and techniques, as well as using Talent Management foundations, the students will comit to run a thorough analysis and present a well-developed proposal for you.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Each student group will submit a 8-10 page written report detailing the problem, recommended solutions, and action plan.

Optional: Each group will also complete a 20-minute presentation highlighting important findings and recommendations moving forward.

Project Examples

Requirements

Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Assess your existing corporate culture and recommend strategies for greater alignment with your corporate strategies and objectives.
  • Assess your organizational structure's fit with your organization's strategy.
  • Designing/redesigning an internal system or process related to on-boarding, employee engagement, change management, talent management, or work/life balance.
  • Developing a plan to address employee turnover/employee retention, or increase employee engagement
  • Developing a program to support the inclusion, engagement and retention of diverse employees (e.g., women, ethnic minorities, LGBT)

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to provide relevant information and answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions, based on a pre-defined cadence.

Client is able to work with up to 8 groups of students

A representative of the company will be available to present the problem statement, and answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project.
