Research Seminar in Economics

This advanced economics course gives senior undergraduate students hands-on experience solving real-world business and policy problems through applied economic research. Students work in small consulting-style teams to deliver evidence-based insights and actionable recommendations tailored to your organization’s needs. Working under the guidance of a faculty advisor, each student team partners with an organization to co-design a research question and carry out an in-depth analysis using economic frameworks and data tools. Time Commitment 35 hours per student (approx. 175 hours per team of 5) Minimal time required from your organization: 1 initial kickoff call with instructor and/or student team Periodic email check-ins (approx. 2–3 during the project) Optional feedback session at the final presentation

Students in this post-graduate certificate program are advanced students who have undergone intensive training in ethical hacking, vulnerability analysis, and offensive cybersecurity. They are capable of: Conducting professional-grade penetration testing and vulnerability assessments Applying the seven phases of penetration testing to identify, document, and remediate real-world security threats Analyzing Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) used by malicious actors Installing, configuring, and using offensive security tools across web apps and OS environments Creating detailed technical reports and security risk ratings with strategic recommendations Working in teams to simulate real-world threat scenarios, leveraging professional tools and workflows

Are you seeking innovative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges while supporting the development of emerging talent? Collaborate with students from York University’s Cybersecurity program on a project-based experience tailored to your organizational needs. Project Overview Students will work on a customized cybersecurity project designed to address a specific challenge or opportunity within your organization. Possible project topics include, but are not limited to: Developing a Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC). Cyber risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Incident response and disaster recovery planning. Threat intelligence and vulnerability analysis. Security architecture and system hardening. Governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks. Students will engage with your organization virtually using communication tools of your choice. They are available to contribute up to 39 hours from June 19th to August 14th , ensuring a focused and efficient collaboration.
