Product Design Consultants - Manufacturing Design Engineering Tech Capstone
DEN495
Most NU students are working adults who bring years of work experience to the table. They have over 200 hours to work on one main project over the course of a three-month capstone course. With regular mentorship and guidance from you, they can produce quality work that can make a real impact on your business. Students in the BS in Manufacturing Design Engineering Technology program acquire the theoretical foundations, hands-on experience, and teaming skills required for effective conceptual, logistical, developmental, and interdisciplinary design of complex engineering devices, product life cycles, and engineering systems through integration of state-of-the-art computer-aided tools, concurrent engineering standards, and simulation modeling techniques.
Agile Software Development and Project Management
CSC480A/B/C
This experience focuses on applying agile software development methodologies and project management concepts to real-world projects. Learners will collaborate to gather requirements, create UML use case diagrams, and manage project schedules using agile Scrum processes. By engaging in this experience, learners will enhance their ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical solutions, effectively communicate with stakeholders, and adapt to changing project requirements.
Complex Business Problem and Analysis-Summer 2025
ENM607
Do you have a complicated business problem or question that doesn't have an easy answer? Work with Capstone students from our Master of Science in Engineering Management program to get solution designs that can help move your company forward. Our students come to the program with an engineering background and choose to specialize in systems engineering or project management. This is an opportunity for our students to showcase and apply their academic knowledge in the business environment. Client companies will be presented with teams’ recommendations that will align the organizational systems with their core mission. These recommendations will address; the needs for enhancements to the systemic operating processes, measurable improvements to efficiency and effectiveness of core business systems, elimination or minimization of potential projects failures (delays, quality, scope, budget), use of technology-based solution where and when applicable.
Paralegal and Legal Research Assistance
PLA 311
National University’s Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies program prepares learners to become adept legal assistants with comprehensive training in legal research, document preparation, and case management. This Experience allows students to apply their acquired knowledge in a real-world setting, focusing on tasks such as drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and supporting legal professionals. Students in this program are skilled in legal terminology, case law, and ethical considerations, and they seek to enhance their practical skills through hands-on projects. We are looking for employers who can provide guidance and constructive feedback, and who are committed to regular communication throughout the project. Employers should be prepared to review and support the learners' work and participate in the final presentation to discuss the outcomes of the project. IMPORTANT: National University offers monthly term starts, allowing students to commence their projects approximately every 4 weeks. Most students will complete their required hours in 8-12 weeks. The university welcomes projects on a rolling basis. Once your project is accepted, we will match you with a student as soon as the next cohort becomes available. This is more of an internship for the students and students should be supervised by licensed attorneys
