Dr. Muñoz-Miranda is an Assistant Professor/Lecturer of Healthcare Analytics at Cape Breton University (CBU) in Nova Scotia, Canada. He holds a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, a Medical Specialty in Ophthalmology, a two advanced certifications: High Specialties in Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Ophthalmology Research and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Emergency Medicine.

Since 2014, Dr. Muñoz-Miranda has served as an Ophthalmology Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMex). In 2021, he began lecturing in Ophthalmology at the School of Medicine at Centro Universitario Ixtlahuaca, affiliated with Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

From 2016 to 2023, Dr. Muñoz-Miranda managed a private practice as a Cataract and Refractive Surgeon at Ophtha Center "Salud Visual", where he also held the position of Medical Director. Additionally, he built a distinguished career at ISSEMyM Medical Center (Special Shift) starting in 2003, working as an Emergency Physician in triage, emergency consulting, and trauma unit support. Between 2008 and 2012, he served as a Substitute Assistant Director at a third-level medical center.

Dr. Muñoz-Miranda is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) by the American College of Surgeons and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association. He is also a member of the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology and is internationally recognized as a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.

In autumn 2023, Dr. Muñoz-Miranda transitioned to an academic role at CBU, bringing his extensive medical expertise and teaching experience to focus on healthcare analytics in Canada
