Ergonomic Product Analysis and Recommendations
ERGO 6005
Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Fanshawe College to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this course learn to use biomechanical, Human Interface, usability, and anthropometric indicators to evaluate products. Ideally the product offers some comfort, safety or improved usability for the customer. In this project, students will work with a company to review a product that aims to solve an ergonomic issue and its advantages vs the current products and process on the market.
Field Placement in Advanced Ergonomic Studies
The field placement is the culminating experiential learning opportunity for students in Advanced Ergonomic Studies. We are looking for companies to support 280 hours (8 weeks) internship. Most students are eager to be onsite or blended . The ergonomic students have completed two semesters of intensive theoretical and practical study in the ergonomics discipline. They are available May 2022 to June 2022. The field placement project enables students to apply skills and concepts to solve real problems. Student placements can occur virtually and onsite with proper Covid protocol. The student's placements are for credit and therefore unpaid. Geographic location is therefore a consideration .
