Project Examples
Requirements
Students can develop a plan for a new or ongoing project or initiative. There are no limits to the nature of this project, and students will work with you to gather the data needed to create a successful plan.
Below is a list of project types that students can create plans for, but it is by no means exhaustive:
- Opening a new branch, domestically or overseas
- Development of a new product or service
- Internal research
- Supply chain
- Import & export of a new or existing product
- Anything related to international (or domestic) business management, which will help you fine-tune the steps/processes required to succeed in your endeavour
- (Marketing projects would not be a good fit)
The students will not be executing the project tasks; they will only outline them for you.
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm that your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Be available to meet remotely with students 2-3 times over the course of the project to provide them with information about your project's scope and resource requirements (see milestones for details).
Incentives, prizes, and/or awards (hereafter referred to as “Incentives”) may or may not be offered at the sole discretion of the organization and awarded upon the completion of the project. Instructors will not be involved in any part of the selection, ranking, or awarding of Incentive winners. Organizations that elect to offer Incentives are solely responsible for the screening, selection, awarding, and provision of any Incentives. Seneca College assumes no liability and is not responsible for the selection, ranking, awarding or provision of the Incentives to the winners.
