Bio

I am the Field Placement Specialist for the Concurrent Disorders Program at Mohawk College. I organize field placements for my students. Concurrent Disorders is a one year post graduate program, so students are admitted who have successfully completed a bachelor degree or a diploma in a related field. We have been delivering this program for 12 years and it has been incredibly successful!

Addiction and Mental Health Work Placement W25

252

Mar 3, 2025 - Apr 26, 2025

Our post graduate Concurrent Disorders program students are ready to virtually support individuals, families, and communities who are facing challenges with addiction or mental health. As a “professional in training”, our students are ready to help out in various ways, developing their skills, knowledge, and attitudes that are necessary to enter the field as an addiction and mental health worker practitioner. We are looking for placement sites where students can apply in practice the concepts and theories learned in the classroom. The students have learned in the classroom about many aspects of addiction and mental health work, including interpersonal skills, counseling, group facilitation, harm reduction, and case management. Please note that all of our students will have their Vulnerable Sector Screening completed. The students are available for 200 hours of unpaid, for-credit work experience beginning in March, 2024
